Morning Routine – We shared stories from our break.

Recess

Daily 5 – We added another accuracy strategy to our CAFE menu and practiced with a partner. The students finished up their spring poems.

Lunch

Genius Hour – We went to the library to find books for our Genius Hour projects. When we got back to the class we got started on our research. We talked about how to know if a fact is important, and what we should write down while we are researching.

Recess

Science – We reviewed properties of liquids and solids and did a worksheet to check for understanding.

***Genius Hour is an at-school project, unless students have chosen a project that requires making something that cannot be created in the classroom and needs 1:1 adult supervision. We have just begun this round of Genius Hour and projects are NOT expected to be completed tonight or this week, (I am giving students close to a month to complete their projects). Some students may require special materials for their project that I cannot supply at school – if this is the case, these materials do not need to be brought to school until next Monday, so there is no rush to go out and purchase them this evening.
