Star Wars the last battle

In a galaxy far, far away there was a star destroyer and there was more than one.There was a fleet.But coming out of hyper space was a rebel fleet.Rebel ships fought and fought the empire.The empire was winning. 20 rebel ships were taken out.But coming out of hyper space were more rebel ships.The rebels won.The end.

 

Once upon a time,There was an astronaut he lived in a house on the moon.One day it started snowing but the astronaut did ‘t now what it was then he relised it was snow so he biuld a snowman.The end.

Dotty got lost

Long, long ago there was a rainbow Beanie Boo named Dotty. She got lost in the jungle. She was yelling for help,but no one heard . so she was yelling for her parents Shawn and Rochelle but they did not hear her . So she made a house out of snow . She was so lonely she missed her Beanie Boo parents and friends . She was so sad so she went out of her snow house and called for Shawn and Rochelle they heard! She ran to them and gave Shawn and Rochelle a big hug she was so HAPPY they went home and they had a party because she was found . She was so warm in her house because it was not made out of snow . THE END

Magic hamster!

Once upon a time their was a hamster that leaned a trick at school.He was leaning a magic trick.He asked every one in the class.He asked Emery, Phil, Dom, Maggie, Charlie, Sidd, Nev, Luke, Madi, Sam, Chase, Leica, Ava, Caden, Adrita, Max, Niki, Grayson, Parker, Erik, Kellan, and Tagio .Only two people knew a magic trick and they were Phil and Parker. Because they did magic for Genius Hour! So the hamster was showing the magic trick to his friends but the hamster failed so he asked Phil and Parker and they told the hamster again and he got it right. He made the card fly! Phil and Parker told the hamster one more trick and the trick was he can put water in a jug and the water would not fall out. He also leaned a magic trick you pretended to eat a rubber oreo and he folded it and then said i will make it grow back and he flicked the rubber oreo. They lived happily ever after. The end!

Once upon a time their was a hamster.His name was Whiskers. One day he wanted go to school. He wanted to learn a tick and he did. He learned how eat a big treat. He was so proud of him self! When he got home he was so happy! He was so huge. So he had snack.          The end.

Morning Routine

Math – We continued to work on our Valentine’s subtraction work. During math centres I worked with Emery, Adrita, Phil, Grayson, and Leica.

Recess

Daily 5 – Following our guidelines created for peer editing, we edited our stories with a partner. I worked with Parker, Dominic, Maggie, Tiago, Madi, Emery, Sidd, and Grayson on a final edit of their stories. We will be adding these to the blog tomorrow.

Lunch

Special Activity – We read a Valentine’s book and handed out our Valentine’s cards and treats.

Arts Ed. – Mme. Jasper – The class finished off their heart air balloons that they started yesterday.

Recess

Canada Games Activity Challenge – Day 1&2 (since we missed yesterday’s)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – We read chapter 23 and watched the movie up to where we are in the book.

Quiet Time/Clean-Up

 

 

***Thursday is Pink Shirt Day and Friday is Backwards Day.

Morning Routine

Math – We worked on a Valentine’s math activity with 2-digit subtraction.

Recess

Daily 5 – Nev, Tiago, and Ava read their News Duotang responses for us. We did 2 rounds of Hi-5 groups. I read with Eric, Niki, Annalise, Phil, Madi, and Adrita.

Lunch

Genius Hour Presentation – Erik and Leica shared their Lego project with us. Way to go boys!

Special Activity – We wrote Valentine’s cards for others that we have not been kind to, offering apologies and words of friendship to try to repair relationships.

Author Visit – Leah Dorion came to read her newest book for us and do an activity with us. We learned all about Metis mittens. It was a blast!

Morning Routine

Math – We worked on a partner activity to practice subtracting 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping. I worked with Dominic, Chase, Sam, Luke, Tiago, and Max.

Recess

Daily 5 – We did 2 rounds of Hi-5 Groups and read a chapter of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I read with Maggie, Caden, Dominic, Siddhartha, Chase, Parker, Ava, and Charlie.

Lunch

Phys. Ed. – We continued to work on overhand throwing.

Author Study – Leah Dorion will be coming in to read and do an activity with us tomorrow. We listened to one of her books and talked about her illustrations. When she is here, she will also have copies of her colouring book, My Mother Earth for sale for $10. Morning Routine/Math

Recess

Daily 5 – We finished off our second set of stories. The students who were finished worked on Read to Self. As a class, we came up with guidelines for peer editing.

Lunch

Novel Study – We read another chapter of our novel and started to watch the movie.

Genius Hour – The students who are done their presentations worked on a bridge building challenge.

Recess

Genius Hour Presentation – Madi shared her Genius Hour project with us. Great work Madi!

Health – We talked more about what respect looks like and sounds like.

Quiet Time/Clean-Up

 

 

***Exciting news! Our class will be participating in the Canada Games Activity Challenge, which is a daily in-class challenge promoting physical literacy!  In addition, our class has been asked to be featured in Saskatchewan in motion advertising/media to promote the benefits of physical activity! Permission slips were sent home today for students to have personalized profiles for the activity challenge as well as media release forms for Saskatchewan in motion.

***Our class has won an author visit with Leah Dorian. Leah will be visiting our class on Thursday afternoon to read for us as well as lead a classroom activity. When she is here, she will also have copies of her colouring book, My Mother Earth for sale for $10. Monday, February 6th, 2017

Morning Routine

Math – We learned a strategy for 2-digit addition with regrouping. We played a partner game to practice.

Recess

Daily 5 – Caden shared his News Duotang response with us. There are a few students who have not had responses to share lately, and we are waiting on these students so that we can start our third round of sharing. The students worked on another fiction story, and then we tried peer editing with a partner.

Lunch

Genius Hour Presentation – Sam and Kellan shared their Minecraft world with us. Great job!

Health – We started talking about respect. We will continue to learn about what respect looks like and sounds like in a variety of real-life situations.

French – Mme. Jasper

Recess

Snowshoeing – We braved the cold to go out for a quick shoeshoe! Despite the cold and the occasional lost snowshoe we had lots of fun trekking around the park. Unfortunately the second I took my phone out to snap a perfectly posed class picture, my phone died from the cold 🙁
